Welcome to part one of an on-going series where we tell you about the gear the we use on a daily basis. Today we have the favorite gear bags for five of our writers here on the Gadgeteer team. My current gear bag is the Solo Altitude backpack. I reviewed this backpack in April and love it for traveling, the reason I wanted to review it. This pack is small enough to carry as a personal item so I can bring my rolling carry on bag with me when I fly.
With room for my iPad and all the other electronic gear I cannot seem to leave home without the Solo Altitude backpack has and is serving me well. I use this bag for a number of reasons — pockets. This allows me to compartmentalize my needs. Stuff I might need on arrival umbrella, sunglasses, folding clothes hanger are in another. The bag is relatively inexpensive but has held up well on multiple international trips, often times, being my only luggage.
There is even a side-mounted panel permitting the bag to be carried briefcase-style, handy for boarding and leaving aircraft.

Anyone who has flown and sits in an aisle seat has been pummeled by passengers who insist on wearing their backpacks, swinging back and forth looking for seat 37F. The padded laptop compartment in the rear accommodates Internal pockets abound making keeping smaller items contained and in their places when needed.
The all-leather Maverick has a classic elegance in its simplicity. Since my review, the bag has weathered and the marks and scars on the leather from daily use just add to its beauty. Although the Maverick messenger bag is a bit pricey, the years of use it will deliver makes it a bargain. This may be the best bag Waterfield makes.
The Tom Bihn Stowaway is a multitasking marvel. It switches effortlessly from your mobile office to your ideal travel companion and converts to a backpack when you need both hands-free. Look for my full review coming soon! You can read more about the Stowaway at tombihn. My Nike Vapor Training gym sack. I was sick of carrying a large oversized duffle bag to the gym and this bag is the perfect size.
The drawstring closure gives me quick easy access to the main compartment and also allows me to wear the bag like a backpack. Publier un commentaire. How do they hold up against Apple's more expensive wireless Bluetooth earbuds? Read on to find out. Sign up to iPhone Life's Tip of the Day Newsletter and we'll send you a tip each day to save time and get the most out of your iPhone or iPad. The Earcanz Tru wireless earbuds look like two old fashioned single-ear-piece Bluetooth headsets from a decade ago.
They have an ear loop that rests against the inner ridge of your outer ear, initially giving the ear pieces that retro look before wearing them.
Once placed into the ear with the ear loop resting on your outer ear ridge, they are surprisingly comfortable. Yes, they do stick out like Frankenstein neck bolts, but the ear loops do a good job of holding them in position and not allowing the earbuds to droop or fall out.
They stayed tightly in place even with vigorous head bobbing and twisting. Pairing the Earcanz Tru to my iPhone was as simple as other typical Bluetooth headsets. After pressing the power buttons on both earbuds for the first time and allowing them to connect to each other, the iPhone located the EarCanz TRU Bluetooth device.
Once paired, both earbuds reported this status via clear stereo. As for sound quality, the Earcanz Tru arne't bad. At normal sound levels, the audio is a bit muddy, but otherwise fairly clear with good stereo separation. However, when the volume gets loud, the earbuds start blowing out the high end and audio sounds disjointed and muffled as a result.
Besides true wireless functionality, the major incentive for considering these earbuds is the price. Another bonus is that these earbuds use standard MicroUSB ports to recharge, meaning you don't have to carry around a custom charging case or cable to refill the battery charge.
On the downside, battery life is a meager three hours; so depending on your listening duration habits, this may be a significant detractor. One very significant problem occurred with the Earcanz Tru that I have never encountered in all my years of testing and reviewing headsets. After wearing the earbuds for about ten minutes, I noticed a nasty chemical, almost metallic taste in my mouth. I thought at first something might be smoldering in the room I was in ,but then I removed the earbuds and took a whiff of them.
The chemical stink emanating from them made me nearly retch. The awful smell seemed as if it were coming from earbud stems rather than the ear tips.
It was so overpowering that I was surprised I didn't notice it earlier. If the outer coating starts to peel but the foam still has its integrity, just replace the coating. Good as new, basically. Regardless, I can still wear the Surface Earbuds for longer than other buds, which is a plus in my book, even if the tips don't seem to fit my right ear. We reached out to and asked to review the Earcanz Tru Earbuds, completely wireless headphones. Enza asked me if I wanted to review the Earcanz Tru Earbuds and I jumped at the opportunity, I was totally blown away by the performance that the Earcanz Fly Wireless gave. Deep base, popping snare and crisp vocals are the start but the way they performed while jogging was even more impressive. But the Tru Earbuds performed even better.
Check out their Audio website for more information. We love all their products including their Singstation Microphone. We are hoping to try their Alexa compatible speakers next. I took my first run with them and struggled with keeping them in my ear. Ran up and tried the other two and one of them fit perfect! Day two was completely different, perfect fit, perfect sound and never a skip, and no more falling out! These look so handy, I love my bluetooth headphones but they still have a wire so these ones look even better.
Definitely putting then on my wish list!

And when hear about a small, lightweight product which claims up to 60 hours of battery life, active noise cancelling, and all in an affordable package, you have to investigate. How well does the real-world performance stack up against the claims?
Read on to find out…. OVC packs a lot of stuff in the box. You get a small carry pouch, two sets of earbuds one white, one black with small, medium and large sizes in each colora charging cable micro USB but no wall plug so plan on using your computer to charge thesean increasingly unnecessary dual airplane plug, and a cord manager. Pretty complete setup for such a low price point. You can see what you get in the picture below. So how do they stack up in the real world? I started this journey just listening to music on my phone while at my home office desk.
Turn on the bass boost, however, and the sound is great. You get the bass not Beats-level, chest-thumping style but enough to let you feel the music plus the music clears up — you can hear the highs, vocals are clear and crisp, and the volume is much louder. The microphone works well — in both Skype and the phone others could hear me clearly and I could hear them — but, again, only with the bass boost activated.
Without it, while callers could hear me I could hardly hear or understand them. Pretty clear that the only way you want to use these is with the bass boost on at all times, which does reduce the battery life. More on that in a minute. On the outward facing side of each ear bud, you can see a series of small holes on an O shape — these are the microphones used to generate the anti-sound waves that active noise cancelling produces.
The feature is activated via a button on a control close to the end of the cable that plugs into your device. Press to turn it on or off. Noise cancelling seems to work OK, but I have a specific problem that prevents me from getting the full benefit.
I have unusually large ear holes hmmm… but small ears. The stabilizers push the earbud slightly out of my ear canal and breaks the seal. If I hold the earbuds in place, the intact seal gives me the full effect of both the bass boost and the noise cancelling. I cut off the stabilizer on the large size black buds and problem solved, although I feel I am not alone in this problem and OVC should include standard earbuds in the box.
With the stabilizers out of the way, I could begin the real test of the noise cancelling feature — 4 cross-country airline flights in 8 days. Yes, I am a glutton for punishment. That said, the noise cancelling feature is a partial success. With a good seal in my ears and the feature activated I could drown out the engine noise from the plane. Weirdly, though, I could still hear snippets of conversation around me — not a constant thing, mind you, but the occasional word or phrase would come through reasonably clearly, most likely the result of the noise cancelling feature choosing to continue the suppression of the engine noise over a higher-pitched sound like human conversation.Dior font maker
On phone calls and in Skype while in office surroundings, the noise cancelling feature works as advertised. One thing missing, however, is sidetone. This is the ability to monitor your speech while listening to an active conversation.

So just be aware that if your use case is primarily communications, these may not be the earphones you want. Finally the quirks. The bass boost switch is on the side of this control. If you look at the picture, though, you will see the noise cancelling box and, I assume, the larger battery this headphone supports.
The plug for your device is about 4 inches away from this control. That means if you put this in your pocket along with your phone and are involved in pretty much any sort of activity you are constantly going to press the on-off button for noise cancelling. Plus, given where my headphone jack on both my laptop and tablet lives this control just sort of dangles there — too close to the plug to lay on the table or desk.
Thankfully the control is not heavy or this could present problems.Improve your daily routine with the lightweight and wireless EarCanz Fly Earbuds from Stream your music via Bluetooth from any device, while enjoying hands-free calling with a built-in microphone.
